

Installation was initiate but was rolled back and gave a 0x80004004 error which was non-specific. Message: "Windows Messenger will not connect must I was unable to successfully update Windows Live Messenger via IE setup If the installer is looking for them you can browse to it: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Windows Live\.cache" If you successfuly delete the entries manually or with the Clean Utility you can also go to "G:\Program Files\Windows Live\ messenger" where the program is situated and delete all of the files from there - delete the messesnger folder. You can browse for to these registry keys and delete the windows live entries manually: Right click on products and type a few letters of the installer name from the cache path I describe below the dotted line into the key search box at HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\ Products Right click on Uninstall to search the same way for this key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Uninstall - Cache path Just for your information there is a cache where windows live places alll of the installaton files. The Iinstaller Clean Utility may not bre doing it's job for you.
